Former Miss Universe, actress, and model, Olivia Culpo, hits the runway during NYFW and Style Station has the exclusive coverage.
Last week in Chelsea, Sally LaPointe debuted her Fall/Winter 2018 collection with a sleek, yet textured collection of yarns, fur, sequin, and metallics. Her model glam look was created by top echelon artists in the industry. Holli Smith, James Kaliadaros, Gerladine Holford, and Liz Keene. Sleek straight hair, ruby red lips, and natural to white nails were the glam. There was a group of gorgeous models, well selected, to present Sally’s hard work. In the mix, but definitely standing out, was Olivia Culpo. Many of you may see her daily on your social media feed, but walking in NYFW shows is a relatively new look for Olivia. This was only her second show ever!
Style Station stayed with Oliva as she went through each glam station. Her hair was first styled sleek and straight, but not shiny and hard. Holli put in a lot of thought mixing and matching Treseme top products that would keep the hair straight, but allow it to have natural movement, making it more relatable to everyday looks. She made sure all the models’ ends were moisturized and chose their part direction to fit their individuality. Next her skin was prepped by head makeup artist James Kaliadaros who used MAC cosmetic products, though very little makeup was used. Mainly Olivia’s face was prepped with mac hydrating skin products, touched with a little concealer, and finished with Mac’s PREP + PRIME FIX+ to give her face a glow. Then James used Mac’s Ruby Woo lipstick, added a touch of fuchsia, and then created a highlight above the top lip to create a glamour point on Olivia’s and the other models’ faces. Before getting dressed, session manicurist Geraldine Holford painted Olivia’s nails exclusively white, while the others wore a nude.
Now it was time for Olivia to be dressed in her one look. Veteran and head dresser Liz Keefe styled Olivia’s Sally LaPointe camel vertical fur trim turtleneck sweater, bronze pants, and camel patent booties. Sally’s collection was magnificent. It was strong and feminine. It was current with the times of where we are as women, wanting to maintain our femininity while showing our power. Olivia walked the runway with strength and beauty. She naturally grabbed our attention, and was so sweet and gracious to allow Style Station to have exclusive access to her runway experience. What an amazing opportunity that we are so excited to share with you!
